I have to research what hydraulic lifts used in auto shops and power breaks have in common.? hey, please someone help me. Either with the question its self or with a website that will give me info! Thanks!

The only thing they have in common is the fact that they're both hydraulic systems.

A typical automotive brake system is hydraulic... as is an automotive lift (hoist).

They're powered differently, and use different oils etc.
