Does Stephen King even care about what he writes about anymore? His older books seemed so much more well thought out and intriguing. Just seems like he pumps the books out for cash now!

You're not the only one that thinks this....I've thought it for a long time. I am NOT bashing King...I love his work...I just think his earlier works were his best! The Stand being his best, in my opinion. It does seem as though he is just "cranking them out" now to a degree...but as long as people keep buying them & reading them, why not take the easy road? I haven't read a new King book in a long time...I prefer Dean Koontz' books now. I'm getting a little afraid that maybe he too will fall into this trap of cranking them out too, hopefully not.
