You must divine your own Joker, whether he's been conjured by the Art/Designers of Batman, or anyone else. In art you MUST be an original FIRSTLY. Your version is much too reminiscent of Jack Nicholson and other Joker-like versions from Batman. Ah yes, Cesar Romero!
The second image I prefer, minus the suit and cravat...these are not so sharply taken into attention. Why did you include them, if they were more "additions" than
particulars as meaningful as the face. There, the face, you have placed your truest interest. Once that is accomplish, do not diminish it by making it more with what you add only to give it significance.
The second face, shaded, sculpturally, chiseled, without the added paraphernalia of suit and tie, LOOMS, FLOATS out of the page Diabolically! That is convincing Enough!
You have true ability in shading. Isolating what is important to a viewer's eye. However, now that you are in progress of honing this ability, take the leap and FLY with it...CREATE A JOKER OF YOUR OWN, then come back with your own depiction and evolution(s) of that figure.
Art requires above all, my dear, that you make THAT first and lasting impression on others as to your own self - that it is BASED on ORIGINALITY FIRSTLY.
Otherwise, you'll become competent. But competent is not enough, by far in art.
Art is a demanding Task-Mistress if it will grant you her deserving Eye.
Please, create YOUR OWN Joker...then come back and display it.
I would be most interested in seeing what originality is lurking within you.
I DO believe it is in you!!!
Thank you for sharing.
