k thanx! Report Abuse by reader Wow, I've actually read all of these books. That hardly ever happens on these lists. This is a great list, by the way, and you really can't go wrong as regards quality.
The books I liked the least among these are My Antonia, The Scarlet Letter and The Shipping News.
My favorites are Catch-22, The Sun Also Rises, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Things They Carried, Atlas Shrugged, In Dubious Battle and Slaughterhouse Five.
The others all fall somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. Bear in mind that this is just one opinion. You may well love the books I hate, you know? These are all excellent books in their own ways. Also note that I listed them in the same order as your post. That's because I am incapable of ranking books, especially for other people. Whenever I try I end up cancelling the answer. It's just impossible to tell a stranger what they would like the best.
With that said I will add that everyone I know likes Cuckoo's Nest, The Things They Carried and Slaughterhouse Five, while many of the other titles are hotly disputed. Not that my circle of friends is necessarily representative but hey, they're all I've got.
