How long should I give myself realstically to make my first quilt- queen size. Or should I start with a twin?

I have a textile and fashion design degree so I sew clothing. My sewing skill are pretty advanced for clothing but I have never made a quilt before.
If you have good sewing skills, go to quilterscache.com. She has lots of great block patterns. Make one block, see how it goes. If it goes well, keep going! A queen size quilt TOP could take up to 20 hours total. If you are unsure about your sewing skills, I recommend the Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day Log Cabin.
