Vector Help.? Two workers pull horizontally on a heavy box, but one pulls twice as hard as the other. The larger pull is directed at 25 deg. west of north, and the resultant of these two pulls is 350 deg. directly northward.

Use vector components to find the magnitude of each of these pulls and the direction of the smaller pull. Assume that the smaller pull has a component directed to the south.

10 POINTS BEST ANSWER
2 hours and no help.....assume you meant "350 pounds"...if so then 2x<cos 115, sin 115> + x < cos w, sin w> = 350 < 0,1>.....or 2x cos 115 + x cos w = 0 & 2x sin 115 + x sin w =350...solving the 1st means x = 0 or cos w = - 2 cos 115----> w = {close to} 32 degrees ...using that w in the 2nd we find x = {close} 191.5 thus 2nd pull is "191.5 <cos 32,sin 32>" ,that is 58 degrees east of north
